Joel Beacher
Attorney
Joel’s lifelong love of nature encouraged him to pursue climate advocacy as an attorney, and he is passionate about his and his clients’ missions to speed the energy transition.
Joel’s experience includes a wide variety of renewable energy infrastructure financings, including utility-scale and community-scale solar, wind, and storage development projects across the United States. He has experience representing both investors and developers of projects, and his insights into all sides of the renewable energy financing and development space help him deliver excellent solutions to get projects built and operational.
He published How Trees Get Standing while serving as an executive editor for the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law and remains interested and engaged in the environmental law sphere. Joel is passionate about his pro bono advocacy work on behalf of underprivileged groups seeking relief from environmental wrongs and Afghan refugees seeking asylum in the United States.
A proud Brooklynite, Joel lives in Brooklyn with his fiancée and beloved dog, Augie, where he loves to run in Brooklyn’s many parks, hike, cycle, and above all, cook.
