Eric Vanderhoef
Attorney
Eric’s interest in renewable energy goes back to his undergraduate honors thesis, in which he analyzed the economics and ownership structures of renewable energy systems. He translated that interest and care into a career as a transactional attorney, with a focus on the development, acquisition, and financing of clean energy projects.
To Clean Energy Counsel, Eric brings experience representing both sponsors and financing parties in debt and tax equity financings for utility scale renewable energy facilities and large-scale infrastructure projects. He has represented sponsors, lenders, and tax equity investors in solar portfolio financings. He’s also advised sponsors in construction loan and tax equity financings for domestic wind projects spread throughout the United States and represented developers in the sale of a large front-of-the meter energy storage project. Prior to joining Clean Energy Counsel, Eric was an associate in the Energy and Infrastructure group of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
For Eric, renewable energy finance and development is a pragmatic way of bringing about a more clean and equitable energy future. When he steps away from work, he enjoys snow and water skiing, hiking, and tennis.
