Brandon King
Attorney
As a true tax nerd at heart, Brandon has used his years of experience in deciphering complex tax rules to provide timely and accurate advice to both domestic and international clients, with an emphasis on advising clients in the renewable energy space. In his practice, Brandon has assisted clients with navigating the challenges involved with developing and financing projects across the clean energy spectrum, focusing on monetizing tax credits and incentives.
Brandon has significant experience with various tax credits and incentives, including the production and investment tax credits, hydrogen and clean fuel credits, and the carbon oxide sequestration credit. He has advised numerous clients on the tax structuring and compliance aspects of developing projects, monetizing credits and incentives, and negotiating with third-parties to leverage those incentives. Brandon has advised developers and investors on projects nationwide, including with respect to transferability, tax equity, and t-flip transactions for solar, battery storage, advanced manufacturing, and clean fuel credits. Using his cross-disciplinary background, he has also represented clients on tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service in audits and litigation.
Outside of work, Brandon is a social and competitive ballroom dancer, and you can often find him working on choreography for his next routine. You can also find him traveling with his spouse to culturally immersive destinations or geeking out on anything sci-fi related (especially Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica).
