Aretha DiClemente
Attorney
Aretha’s interest in global development led her to a legal career focused on clean energy. She has extensive experience advising sponsors, developers and independent power producers on the development, acquisition and sale of renewable energy projects, and she negotiates engineering, procurement and construction, operations, management, equipment supply, offtake, build-transfer, and purchase and sale agreements for energy projects of all sizes.
Prior to joining Clean Energy Counsel, Aretha served as Senior Counsel to an industry-leading solar panel manufacturer and helped its distributed, commercial and industrial project development businesses expand in the United States.
Before working in-house, Aretha practiced in the award-winning energy groups of two AmLaw “A-List” law firms. There, she advised on utility-scale, commercial and portfolio transactions involving domestic and international renewable and conventional energy projects, including for major utilities and Fortune 100 companies. She also has experience helping significant, distressed projects achieve commercial operation.
Having worked as both outside and inside counsel, Aretha deeply appreciates the value of pragmatic guidance and strives to provide this to her clients every day. In addition to her legal practice, she enjoys visiting project sites and learning about emergent energy technologies.
In her off hours, Aretha can be found spending time with her family, volunteering and traveling.
